The Kiwanis Club of Delano was chartered on November 19, 1954. Currently, the club has no Charter Members.
Weekly luncheon meetings are held on Friday from 12:00-1:30 PM at Delano Histroical Park, 133 So. Lexington (S/E/ corner with Garces Hwy.) (Eff. 10/17/08).
On September 17th, 2014-15 Delano Club President Colton Kinsey was installed at the Delano Regional Medical Center.
At the Delano hosted DCM on Jan. 15, 2015, the Div. 33 "Because We Knew You Award" was presented to honor the following members past & present: Dr. Clifford Loader, James "Jim" Andreas, Earl Schauland, Patrick "Pat" Shaffer, Ralph Carpenter, John "Jack" Hourigan, Steven Kinsey and Arnold "Arny" Morrison.
On April 23, 2015, Delano was recognized for its Patriotism, and received the CNH Patriotism Award for Division 33.
On April 23, 2015, PE Jim Koontz was presented the 2014-15 Distinguished Service Award by CNH Dist. Gov. Alan Guire and Lt. Gov. Greg Mudge, but Jim could not attend this meeting so it will be given at the Club.
Fundraisers: Tri-tip luncheon; "Down On The Farm" raffle; and other concession activities.
Service projects include: Annual Easter Egg Hunt; 4H & FFA projects; Scholarships; Boys & Girls Club; Girl & Boy Scout sposorship; SCICON; Reading Mentors; Habitat for Humanity; Festival of Carols; Star Spangled Spectacular; Historical Park projects; California Parks Ministry; Relay for Life; Community Connections Center.
The Delano High Key Club, Paramount Bard Academy Key Club, Cesar Chavez High Key Club (Chartering) and Builders Club are part of the Service Leadership Program (SLP).
As of 7/31/15 in the WSP2/MNT program, the Delano Club has given $1,934.00 or helped provide 3 shots to ELIMINATE 1,074 maternal/neonatal tetanus cases.
As of 9/30/10 in the WSP1/IDD program, the Delano Club has given $50.00 or helped 1,000 kids from IDD. They rank 12th in Div. 33.
In the Div. 33 Bloodmobile Project (5/13/04), Div. 33 has raised $101,515.30 (or 100.11%) of the $101,400 cost to purchase a 3-bed unit for Houchin Blood Service. We have donated $123.00 (or 0.12%) and rank 17th place.
