September 4, 2009: Div. 33 Lt. Governors Retirement & Installation Dinner was held at Chalet Basque on September 4, 2009. Cal-Nev-Ha Dist. 2009-10 Gov. Roy Talley retired 2008-09 Lt. Gov. Mona Millington and installed 2009-10 Lt. Gov. Steve Kinsey (Left). Retiring 2008-09 Lt. Gov. Mona Millington thanked all: Div. 33 Club Presidents & Committee Chairs, Div. Sec. Debbie Shepherd, Region 11 Trustee Jim Koontz and Div. 18 LG Alan Guire. In attendance from Div. 33 Clubs were: Bakersfield (0), Delano (11/7), East (1), Golden K (2), Kern (3/1), Oildale (7/1), Rosedale (1/1), Shafter (3/1), South (5), Taft (0), Tehachapi (0) & Westchester (4/4). October 15, 2009: Div. 33 DCM was hosted by Tehachapi Pres. Bruce Hamlin at Souza Family Vineyards, 26877 Cummings Valley Road, Networking & Wine Testing - 6:00 p.m. & Dinner - 6:45 p.m. (Middle). IPLG Mona Millington conducted 2009-10 Lt. Gov. Steve Kinsey's 1st DCM due to his recent kidney surgery. November 4, 2009: Div. 33 Teen Government Day was be hosted by Golden K Pres. PDLG Sunny Scofield at Hodel's, Olive Drive & Knudsen Ave., Time: 12:00 p.m.. Judge Mike Bush, the event coordinator and member of the Bakersfield Club, introduced the Div. 33 Clubs (50), High Schools Students (60) and Government & School Officials (16) in attendance. Dr. Soraya Coley, CSUB Provost, was the Keynote Speaker. March 27, 2010: The Region 11 Conference was held at Delano Regional Medical Center with 2008-10 Reg. 11 Trustee Jim Koontz (Div. 18 Porterville). Thirty-six Kiwanians were in attendance: Div. 18 - LG Ray Sanchez with his 13 members & Div. 33 LG Steve Kinsey with his 22 members. Guest speakers were: SLP - Builders Club Administrator Larry Madick & Foundations - FA Sir Rueben Perttula. The Delano Club served a light breakfast & lunch. PDLG Walter Morton (Div. 33 Kern) was elected as the 2010-13 Reg. 11 Trustee. Div. 33 LG Steve conducted a raffle drawing with winners: Gov. April 10, 2010: Lt. Gov. Steve Kinsey released the Div. 33 Kiwanis "One Day" Project Flyer announcing the start of collecting food for the local food pantries to provide meals for needy families. Flyer
April 15, 2010: Cal-Nev-Ha District Gov. Roy Talley's Official Visit with First Lady Dee to Div. 33 will be hosted by Lt. Gov. May 1-2, 2010: 2010 Bakersfield ACS "Relay For Life" was held at CSUB. It is the world largest with 365 teams and 1,500 cancer survivors in purple T-shirts plus a $2,000,000 goal. The following Kiwanis Div. 33 members are pictured: Bakersfield - Amy Ainsworth & PP John Hodel; East Bak. - Dona Baker; GK & Kern - PSDLG John Stephenson; Oildale - Former PP Glenn Davis; South Bak. - PLG Mel Khachigian; Westchester - PP Joe Johnson, PP Paul Weller& Caregiver PP Joe Bradford (Carolyn).
