2008-2009 Division 33 Lt. Gov. Mona Millington News:
Division 33 is in 2nd place in the Cal-Nev-Ha District and 34th place in KIF. Division 33 has donated $171,420.42 to help over 3.44 million children fight IDD worldwide. In Cal-Nev-Ha District, the Div. 33 clubs are ranked: Kern - 3rd; Westchester - 15th; Tehachapi - 22nd and Shafter - 42nd. Kern Club is 86th worldwide.

On Sept. 24, 2009, the WSP/IDD Committee named the following 4 Kern Kiwanis members with 1 Hixson Award and 3 Diamond-Levels: 64th - 1996-97 Pres. & current S/T John Cove (Diamond Level #2670-01); 65th - 2008-09 VP Larry Bly (Hixson #34958); 66th - Charter Member & 1961 Pres. John Boydstun (Diamond Level #2242-02) and 67th - 1998-99 Pres. Charles Neville (Diamond Level #2241-02).

On December 4, 2008, PSDLG John Stephenson honored 2007-08 Div. 33 Lt. Gov. Fuchsia Ward with Kern's 63rd Hixson Fellowship (Diamond Level #2194-02) for her outstanding leadership of the 12 Clubs in Div. 33. (Right)
HONOR CLUB BANNERS
A total of 427 Honor Club Banners have been awarded worldwide with 21 in the Cal-Nev-Ha District, and Division 33 has three (14.3%).
KERN KIWANIS ADDS 1 NEW HIXSON
On September 11, 2008, PSDLG John Stephenson honored Andrea Garcia (25) with Kern's 62nd Hixson for her dedicated work in the Service Leadership Programs (SLP) having servered as the 2000-01 KIWIN'S Ruby Division LTG at East Bakersfield HS and joining Kern Kiwanis in May 2003 to continue her work with KIWIN'S Regional Advisor John Stephenson. KERN MEMBER HONORED BY KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION
On September 2, 2008, PSDLG John W. Stephenson is herby named HONORED BENEFACTOR with a framed certificate signed by Jane M. Erickson, President of Kiwanis International Foundation.
SALT IODIZATION SUSTAINABILITY ENDOWMENT
To continue the work of the WSP/IDD, KIF has set up a new fund called the "Salt Iodization Sustainability Endowment."
KERN KIWANIS ADDS 1 NEW HIXSON DIAMOND LEVEL
On December 30, 2006, PSDLG John Stephenson was honored as the 61st Hixson (Diamond Level #2) for his dedicated service to Kern's Million Dollar Hole-In-One Shootout fundraiser for the past 12 years ($153,200).
KERN KIWANIS ADDS 2 NEW HIXSONS DIAMOND LEVEL
At Kern's 12th MDHIOS Sponsors and Members Appreciation Luncheon on July 20, 2006, PSDLG John Stephenson honored 2000-01 PLG Phil Field (59th Hixson - Diamond Level #3) for his dedicated support and 2000-01 South PP Tammy Lodermeier (60th Hixson - Diamond Level #1) for her 12 years as the Voice and Image of MDHIOS. SECOND KERN MEMBER HONORED BY KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION
At Kern's 58th Charter Luncheon on May 25th, PSDLG John Stephenson presented Clint Douglass the second "Benefactor" a special award from Kiwanis International Foundation.
KIWANIS STATUS OF WORLDWIDE SERVICE PROJECT - IDD
As of September 30, 2005, the Kiwanis family has contributed in cash $88,793,697 toward its new $78 million goal including $10,424,004 for the 113,000 Reasons Project above. Kiwanis International has awarded in grants to 102 nations and areas to support their programs for the virtual elimination of iodine deficiency disorders (IDD). The use of the funds is monitored by UNICEF and its field staffs. Status Report
