For KIWANIS One Day, Kern Kiwanis Club (22 & 1 guest) and East Bakersfield HS KIWIN'S Key Club (33) had a fun morning fishing at Hart Park's Mirror Lake. Each of the 27 Special Education students from Lamont Sunset School caught a rainbow trout furnished by Fish and Game Dept. Three Hart Park Rangers set up the fishing and BBQ areas. Lunch was prepared by the Kern chefs. Thanks to Co-Chairs Fred Kittredge & John Wagner for another outstanding "Take a Kid Fishing Day." Thanks to RA John Stephenson for organizing the KIWIN'S members help. (UL) - East Bakersfield HS KIWIN'S Key Club had 33 members that were van transported by the following Kern member's drivers: Lynn Finch, Warren Morse, PDLG Water Morton, Dodie Mosby and PSDLG John Stephenson. (UM) - Kern member Dodie Mosby handed out dark blue caps and t-shirts to the 27 Special Education students from Lamont Sunset School. (UR) - Special Ed students with their aids, EBHS KIWIN'S plus Kern members are shown fishing at Hart Park's Mirror Lake. (LL) - KIWIN'S Joshua Selvey and Kern's Paul Bristol helped this Special Ed girl land her rainbow trout. Not shown were Guest Alex Rogers and Kern's PP Russ Allred cleaning and packing their catch to take home. (LM) - Lunch of Hot Dogs & Hamburgers were prepared by the Kern chefs: (L-R) PP Rueben Perttula, PLG George Kates, PP Rudy Barrera, Sr. and Chuck Heppe. (LR) - KIWIN'S Sebastien Bauge took photos of the first fish caught by each Special Ed student, and Co-Chair John Wagner printed plus framed the photos. Before getting on the bus, Co-Chair Fred Kittredge presented each with their memory fish photo, and he got back a big smile plus thank you from each Special Ed student. Photos
