- At the 28th KIWIN'S District Convention in Irvine, Kiwanis Governor Les Wixon presented retiring 2003-04 District Administrator John Stephenson with a plaque and the 1st DKA in Cal-Nev-Ha. KIWIN'S Governor Vanessa Porter presented DA John with a Dunlap Fellowship Upgrade for his dedicated work with the 32nd KIWIN'S Key Club District's 3rd year of operation. - Kern Kiwanis Club held its 10th Million Dollar Hole-In-One Shootout for the 2nd year at Jose's Golf Range & Pro Shop on 5101 Stine Rd. next to Kern Turf Supply. PSDLG John Stephenson and SBPP Tammy Lodermeier are Co-Chairs. Kern County Builders' Exchange is our 2004 Presenting Sponsor. On June 3rd at the Kick Off Luncheon, a 5 ball shootout was held for our special guests. The winners were: 1st - Jim Scott of KGET TV 17, 2nd - Brandon Kim our host with his Dad Mr. Chang Kim and 3rd - Jose Arredondo owner of Family Motors plus Vehicle Sponsor. (Middle Middle-Right) Kern's Pres. Richard Wiens, Tee Manager and IPP Fuchsia Ward, Check-In Manager, prior to the Semi-finals on June 6th at 4 p.m. (Middle Right) Co-Chair Tammy Lodermeier recorded the name and distance for each measurment made during the Semi-finals. (Lower Left) After the 10 Finalists were determined, they lined up in front of the scoreboard with 1st on the left side. Each were presented with a check and plaque by Co-Chairs John and Tammy with the help of Pres. Richard Wiens. We are pleased to have PGA Pro Roland Reese of Ridgecrest to conduct our Finals under the rules of the NHIOA. - Kiwanis International Convention in St. Louis, MO. Cal-Nev-Ha District 1996-97 Governor Nelson Tucker won 2004-05 International Vice President/Trasurer, and he is shown with PLG Phil & Leah Field. - Kern Kiwanis Club held it 13th Fireworks both in the Save Mart Shopping Center at Calloway & Rosedale Hwy. with the Co-Chairs Fuchsia Ward, Rudy Barrear, Sr. and John Stephenson, Jr. Helping open the booth was S/T John & Shirley Cove with Co-Chair Fuchsia. (Middle Left)

- Key Club International Conventions in St. Louis, MO. 2003-04 KIWIN'S Governor Vanessa Porter received her Distinguished KCI Governors award in it's 3rd year as the Key Club's 32nd district (1 of 12) (Middle Middle-Right). Also, the KIWIN'S district had 6 of 122 to get the Robert F. Lucas Outstanding Lt. Governor's award. In addition, we had our candidate John Torres win 1 of 14 KCI Trustee positions. 2003-04 KIWIN'S District Administrator John Stephenson was very proud of his Governor, Board and Regional Advisors for their hard work.

- 2004-05 KIWIN'S Key Club District held their Summer Board meetings at Cal Poly SLO. (Left) KIWIN'S Governor Kathy Choi (Torrance HS) conducted a very productive and bonding meetings. (3rd front row) District Special Assistant John Stephenson provided the transportation for Ruby Div. LTG Melissa Pina (EBHS).

- Cal-Nev-Ha Kiwanis District Convention, Sacramento, CA. was attended by Pres. Fuchsia Ward, Pres.-Elect Richard Wiens, Vice Pres. David Rogers, PP Rueben Perttula, PLG Phil & Leah Field and PSDLG John Stephenson. Div. 33 Foundation Ambassador Rueben Perttula (Kern) was awarded a plaque along with Lt. Gov. Sunny Scofield for our 16th year of 100% club participation in both KI and Cal-Nev-Ha Foundations. PSDLG John Stephenson (Kern) was the 8th recipient of the Ernie Korte Lifetime Achievement Award with PLG Mel Khachigian (South) being the 2nd recipient. (Lower Right)

- Div. 33 DCM hosted by Shafter Club Pres. Amy McDaniel at Memorial Veteran's Hall, Social - 6:00 p.m. & Meeting - 6:30 p.m. The clubs in attendance were as follows: Bakersfield (3), Delano (0), East Bakersfield (5), Golden K (2), Kern (8), Oildale (3), Rosedale (9), Shafter (13), South Bakersfield (4), Southwest Bakersfield (0), Taft (4), Tehachapi (4), Westchester (8), and KIWIN'S LTG (1). 2001-02 Div. 33 Lt. Gov. Robert McDaniel (Shafter) awarded the Distinguished Club pins to Presidents and Secretaries plus banner patch & $50 Kiwanis Store gift certificates for the following nine clubs: Bakersfield, Delano, Kern, Rosedale, South Bakersfield, Southwest Bakersfield, Taft, Tehachapi and Westchester. Congratulation to Robert McDaniel for being named Distinguished 2001-02 Lt. Gov. by Past Governor Greg Mason. Div. 33 Bloodmobile Chair Bill Altmiller (Oildale) conducted the drawing for the $350 Beef Raffle with the winner being Sharon Thesman. Lt. Gov. Sunny Scofield announced this fundraise profited $5,377.76 bring our total to date of $42,135.78 towards our goal of $108,400 for purchasing a Kiwanis 3-bed Bloodmobile to be used by Houchin on small blood draws.

- Kern Kiwanis Club Retirement & Installation Party was held at the Bakersfield Petroleum Club (12th floor), Social - 6:00 p.m. & Dinner - 7:00 p.m. Human & Spiritual Values Chair Michael Friedman presented to Sheila Ross the 2002-03 Layman of the Year Award for her late husband Bob Ross. Bob was an active and giving Kern member. PP Rudy Barrera, Sr. presented the 2002-03 Kiwanian of the Year Award to Inter-club Chair Warren Morse for his dedicated service in completing a Round Robin. He will have a Super Round Robin when the two members make their scheduled inter-clubs. 2002-03 President Fuchsia Ward presented to our two Charter Members PP John Boydstun, Sr. and PP Dr. Steve Montgomery their 55 years Legion of Honor Certificate. In addition, Sec. John Cove & Pres. Fuchsia presented Attendance Awards.
2002-03 Div. 33 Lt. Gov. Sunny Scofield (Golden K) retired the Officers and Board thanking them for an outstanding year with 14 new members. 2003-04 Div. 33 Lt. Gov. Filmore Bender (South) installed Fuchsia Ward as Immediate Past President. As you can see, IPP Fuchsia was laughing with everyone else to the joke Lt. Gov.
