Thanks to Boys & Girls Chair Fred Kittredge for another successful K-Family event with the help of Patty McDowell. (Left) For Total K Day, Kern Kiwanis Club (22 & 3 guests) plus Golden K Kiwanis Club (2), East Bakersfield HS KIWIN'S (19 & 1 guest) and Key Club (10) had a fun morning fishing at Hart Park's Mirror Lake. Each of the 40 Special Education students from Lamont Sunset School caught a rainbow trout furnished by Fish and Game Dept. from Kernville. Three Hart Park Rangers set up the fishing and BBQ areas plus John Stephenson, Jr. helped with Plan B. (Middle) Lunch was prepared by the Kern chefs: Rudy Barrera, Sr., Rick Guinn, George Kates & Arnold Perez. (Right) Also, 13 Kern members had breakfast at 6:30 a.m. for last minute fine tuning of the event supplies. Chair Kittredge thanked KIWIN'S Key Club Regional Advisor John Stephenson, Sr. and CNH Key Club Kern Kiwanis Advisor Shirley Ventura for their help in making arrangements with EBHS club members. In addition, the following Kern members provided Key Clubber transportation: Lynn Finch, Lee Mathers, Warren Morse, Guest Floyd Nash, Charles Neville and Brent Yanagi. Also,the following Kern members worked today: Pres. Russ Allred, Ariana Enriquez, Chuck Heppe, Judy LaValley, Dodie Mosby, Sir Rueben Perttula (Gary Kjolberg), PE Marvin Rawls (Susan), IPP David Rogers, VP Chris Strong and Marti Tucker.
