The Region 11 Conference was held at SPDES Portuguese Hall in Tipton, CA with 2008-10 Region 11 Trustee Jim Koontz (Div. 18). 2008-09 Tipton Pres. Ronald Nogues introduced IPLG Fuchsia Ward for opening song. Fifty-nine Kiwanians were in attendance: Div. 18 - LG Alan Guire with his 37 members & Div. 33 - LG Mona Millington with her 22 members. Guest speaker on Club Grants was CNHF Shane Kramer. The Tipton Club provided a delicious lunch. Ten new members spoke to 3 groups. Also, Presidents and Secretaries had work groups. Div. 18 LG Alan & Div. 33 LG Mona sold tickets to a raffle drawing that concluded the meeting. Dan & DFA Rueben Perttula presented DSAs. (Lower Right) Eighty-three Kiwanians and guests including Region 11 Trustee Jim Koontz, Div. 18 Lt. Gov. Alan Guire & KIWIN'S Ruby Div. LTG Carolina Aparicio attended. Kern Kiwanis Club held their 61st Charter Night at Luigis with 28 Kern members and 11 guests. PSDLG John Stephenson presented our two Charter Members: Dr. Steve Montgomery (1985-86 Pres.) and John Boydstun, Sr. (1961 Pres.). The program included: PP Rueben Perttula, PP David Rogers, PP Dodie Mosby and CM PP John Boydstun. Kern Pres. Rick Guinn passed the Club Charter to PE Joe Muller. 2009-10 Cal-Nev-Ha KIWIN'S Key Club District Board & Training meeting was held at the Rancho Cucamonga Best Western Inn on May 22-24, 2009. KIWIN'S Gov. Mary Nguyen with Dist. Adm. Larry Lewis led the group of 16 members and 10 advisors. KCI Trustee Yihwan Kim was introduced. Kern Kiwanis Club held 1st Superkart Racing at 7021 Shirra Ct. Ste. B from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The racing event was conducted by Co-Chairs PP David Rogers & PP Chris Strong. Club Pres. Rick Guinn presented the following cash awards: 1st - Dale Cheeseman ($1,000), 2nd - Mikayela Spainhoward ($500), 3rd - Dan Littlefield ($250), 4th - Zack Lamas ($100), 5th - Tony Lamas ($100), 6th - Mark Peters ($100), 7th - Lance Horton ($100 given back to club) and 8th - Mike Nelson ($100). PDLG GKP Sunny Scofield presented $220 for Veterans Memorial Found. 2008-10 Region 11 Trustee Jim Koontz presented a report on the Cal-Nev-Ha District Board.

94th Annual Kiwanis International Convention - Nashville, Tenn. The Cal-Nev-Ha District will be housed in the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University.
