Div. 33 Lt. Governors Retirement & Installation Dinner was held at Taft Oildorado Big Tent. Cal-Nev-Ha Dist. 2010-11 Gov. Tom, Millham retired 2009-10 Lt. Gov. Steve Kinsey (Delano) and installed 2010-11 Lt. Gov. Kathy Orrin (Taft) & Lt. Gov. Elect Joe Johnson (Westchester). Retiring 2009-10 Lt. Gov. Div. 33 Teen Government Day was hosted by Kern Club Pres. Larry Bly at Hodel's who introduced the CNHD Region 11 Trustee Walter Morton (Kern), Div. 33 Lt. Gov. Kathy Orrin (Taft) & Clubs, High Schools and Government Officials in attendance. Captain Blood Bill Altmiller (Oildale) led the opening songs and announced the Div. 33 Blood Drive on Nov. 24th. 2010 Kiwanis Div. 33 Blood Drive was held on November 24, 2010 at Hodel's. Captain Blood Bill Altmiller thanked the Kiwanians and guests for their blood donations of 32 pints. Special guests were Houchin's Carola Enriquez & 2010-13 CNHD Region 11 Trustee Walter Morton. 2010-11 Div. 33 Kathy Orrin thanked the host Oildale Kiwanis Club. Celebrity Guest K. C. Sheriff Donny Youngblood's topic was "Enforcing the law in Kern County." Stephanie of Houchin Blood Bank said that the Kiwanis "Half Pint" blood mobile unit provided 10% of their total draws. Kern Kiwanis Club's Salvation Army Kids Christmas Party was held. Chair Lynn Finch's Children's Welfare committee planned the event with SA Major Carol Abella. Steve Snitchler provided gift wrapping space & delivered the gifts. PP John Wagner was Santa Claus with 17 Kern helpers & spouses. PP Reuben Perttula arranged Frito Lay chips & Boydstun's oranges for all. PSDLG John Stephenson Sr. supervised Ruby Division KIWIN'S Key Club members: 1 Ridgeview HS & 6 East Bakersfield HS. Kern Kiwanis Club's "Take a Kid Fishing Day" was hosted by Chair Fred Kittredge at Hart Park's Mirror Lake. Also, 27 KIWIN'S Key Club members with 2 FAs from East Bakersfield and Ridgeview HS helped the 29 Special Education students from Lamont Sunset School catch a rainbow trout furnished by Fish and Game Dept. Four Hart Park Rangers set up the fishing and BBQ areas. Lunch was prepared by the Kern chefs. Photos This was Kern's KIWANIS ONE DAY service project: 19 members & 95 hours. This KOD project required a total of 195 helpers working 455.5 hours which included Kern's 58.5 members & 112.5 hours.

2011 Bakersfield ACS "Relay For Life" was held at new location of 11800 Old River Road. It is the world largest with 400 teams and 2,000 cancer survivors in purple T-shirts plus raised $2,000,402. Gov. Kathy Orrin (Taft) and installed 2011-12 Lt. Gov. Joe Johnson (Westchester). Retiring 2010-11 Lt. Gov. Kathy Orrin thanked all: Div. 33 Club Presidents & Committee Chairs, Div. Sec. Adele Ward and Region 11 Trustee Walter Morton (2010-13). First Lady Cheryl Olmstead's Project is supporting 6 Partner Hospitals, and Gov. Richard Olmstead's Team Is Carrier of Service. PLG Fuchsia Ward presented the Kiwanian of the Year to John Stephenson, Jr. B&GC Fred Kittredge presented Kern Foundation Review plus honored PP PLG George Kates. 2010-11 Lt. Gov.
