KERN KIWANIS CLUB 2004-05 RETIREMENT & INSTALLATION DINNER

BAKERSFIELD PETROLEUM CLUB, SEPTEMBER 30, 2004

(Left) Charter Member and 1985-86 President Steve Montgomery, MD received his 56 years Perfect Attendance Tab and Legion of Honor recognition.

(Middle Left) Charter Member and 1961 President John Boydstun, Sr. received his 51 Perfect Attendance Tab and Legion of Honor recognition.

(Middle Right) Human & Spiritual Values Chair Mike Friedman presented the 2003-04 Layman of the Year Award to Fred Kittredge who was on a business trip.

(Right) Public and Business Affairs Chair Monique Rogers presented the 2003-04 Kiwanian of the Year Award to Vice Pres. Russ Allred. As Program Chair, Russ and his committee have provided very interesting programs for our Thursday meetings.

(Left) PSDLG John Stephenson, WSP/IDD Chair, presented new member Dan Hering with Kern's 48th Hixson. Dan purchased his Hixson in honor of his mother who had the first surgery in Kern County for lack of Iodine.

(Middle Left) In addition, WSP/IDD Chair John presented 2000-01 Lt. Gov. Phil Field with the 49th Hixson (Diamond Level #2). As noted by Chair John, Kern Kiwanis Club has donated $59,613.14, and it has protected from IDD 1,192,263 kids. Kern ranks 86th club in Kiwanis International and 4th club in Cal-Nev-Ha District.

(Middle Right) 2004-05 Lt. Gov. Joe Whitby (Tehachapi) retired Team 2003-04 and installed as Immediate Past President Richard Wiens.

(Left) As one of the gag gifts, IPP Richard Wiens gave Pres. David Rogers a "Harley Davidson" helmet to ride his Honda motorcycle.

(Middle Left) Chucko the Clown took center stage to dress Pres. David in the proper attire for his office plus getting off many one-liners.

(Middle Right) Cheryl was taken off-guard with IPP Richard's marriage proposal in front his Kern Kiwanis members and guests.

(Right) Because of a schedule conflict with the Shafter Club, 2003-04 Lt. Gov. Mel Khachigian could not retire Team 2003-04 and Pres. Richard. 2004-05 Lt. Gov.
