September 4, 2008: Div. 33 Lt. Governors Retirement & Installation Dinner was held at Woolgrowers on September 4, 2008. Master of Ceremonies PP Jack Roth (Oildale) welcomed our 2008-10 Region 11 Trustee Jim Koontz and Div. 18 LG Alan Guire. PLG Phil Field (Kern) retired 2007-08 Lt. Gov. Fuchsia Ward (Kern) and installed 2008-09 Lt. Gov. Mona Millington (Oildale) with 2008-09 Lt. Gov.-Elect Steve Kinsey (Delano). (Left) 2007-08 Lt. Gov. Fuchsia Ward thanked all: Div. 33 Committee Chairs - Certificates, Presidents - 2007-08 Logo Watches and 2008-09 Lt. Gov. Mona Millington - Dunlap Award. 2008-09 Lt. Gov. January 24, 2009: The Region 11 Conference was held at SPDES Portuguese Hall in Tipton, CA with 2008-10 Region 11 Trustee Jim Koontz (Div. 18). 2008-09 Tipton Pres. Ronald Nogues introduced IPLG Fuchsia Ward for opening song. Fifty-nine Kiwanians were in attendance: Div. 18 - LG Alan Guire with his 37 members & Div. 33 - LG Mona Millington with her 22 members. Guest speaker on Club Grants was CNHF Shane Kramer. The Tipton Club provided a delicious lunch. Ten new members spoke to 3 groups. Also, Presidents and Secretaries had work groups. Div. 18 LG Alan & Div. 33 LG Mona sold tickets to a raffle drawing that concluded the meeting. April 8, 2009: Oildale Pres. Jim Treanor hosted the Div. 33 Official Visit of Cal-Nev-Ha District Gov. Dan Connelly at DoubleTree Hotel. 2008-09 Lt. Gov. Mona Millington, Gov. Dan & DFA Rueben Perttula presented DSAs. (Middle Right) Eighty-three Kiwanians and guests including Region 11 Trustee Jim Koontz, Div. 18 Lt. Gov. Alan Guire & KIWIN'S Ruby Div. LTG Carolina Aparicio attended. The Div. 33 clubs in attendance were as follows: Bakersfield (3), Delano (5/1), East Bakersfield (4), Golden K (5/1), Kern (9*), Oildale (10/1), Rosedale (3), Shafter (4), South Bakersfield (7/1), Taft (6), Tehachapi (4), Westchester (6/4), Div. 18 (6),* KIWIN'S (2) and Governor Dan. Mona Millington presented PSDLG John Stephenson with the 2008-09 Distinguished Kiwanian Award. 2008-09 KIWIN'S Ruby Div. LTG Carolina Aparicio presented Lt. Gov. June 24-28, 2009: 94th Annual Kiwanis International Convention - Nashville, Tenn. The Cal-Nev-Ha District will be housed in the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University.
July 11, 2009: The Region 11 (Div. 33) Club Leadership Training (CLE) for the 2009-2010 Club President and "new" Secretaries was conducted at the Kern County Fire Dept. Olive Drive Fire Training Facility, 5642 Victor St, Bakersfield. Steve Dreyer (Poway) was the CLE Trainer from 8:00 am to 1:45 pm. Our host was Div. 33 Lt. Gov.-desginate Steve Kinsey (Delano) with special guest CNH Counselor Alan Guire (Div. 18).
