Calendar: 2010-2011 Year - "READY, SET, RECRUIT!"

October 17, 2010: Div. 33 Lt. Governors Retirement & Installation Dinner was held at Taft Oildorado Big Tent on October 17, 2010. Cal-Nev-Ha Dist. 2010-11 Gov. Tom, Millham retired 2009-10 Lt. Gov. Steve Kinsey (Delano) and installed 2010-11 Lt. Gov. Kathy Orrin (Taft) & Lt. Gov. Elect Joe Johnson (Westchester). Retiring 2009-10 Lt. Gov. Steve Kinsey thanked all: Div. 33 Club Presidents & Committee Chairs, Div. Sec. Ray Hacker and Region 11 Trustee Jim Koontz (2008-10). In attendance from Div. 33 Clubs were: Bakersfield (2/1), Delano (8), Golden K (2), Kern (5/2), Oildale (6/1), Rosedale (2/1), Shafter (2/2), South (5/1), Taft (28), Tehachapi (1) & Westchester (6/1). Guests attending were: Div. 45 (2), Reg. 11 (2), Div. 18 (4) and Div. 33 Key Club LTG (1). Photos; As part of the joint Taft & Div. 33 Lt. Governor Retirement & Installation Dinner, the 1st DCM was held at Taft Oildorado Big Tent on October 17, 2010. Club's Brag Boards were shown for the 1st time. Div. Sec. November 3, 2010: Div. 33 Teen Government Day was hosted by Kern Club Pres. Larry Bly at Hodel's who introduced the CNHD Region 11 Trustee Walter Morton (Kern), Div. 33 Lt. Gov. Kathy Orrin (Taft) & Clubs, High Schools and Government Officials in attendance. Captain Blood Bill Altmiller (Oildale) led the opening songs and announced the Div. 33 Blood Drive on Nov. 24th. November 24, 2010: 2010 Kiwanis Div. 33 Blood Drive was held on November 24, 2010 at Hodel's. Captain Blood Bill Altmiller thanked the Kiwanians and guests for their blood donations of 32 pints. Special guests were Houchin's Carola Enriquez & 2010-13 CNHD Region 11 Trustee Walter Morton. 2010-11 Div. 33 Kathy Orrin thanked the host Oildale Kiwanis Club. Celebrity Guest K. C. Sheriff Donny Youngblood's topic was "Enforcing the law in Kern County." Stephanie of Houchin Blood Bank said that the Kiwanis "Half Pint" blood mobile unit provided 10% of their total draws. March 12, 2011: Division 18 LG Marie Banuelos and her husband Santiago joined us at our last DCM to invite all Division 33 members to A Night in Tuscany, a Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation Benefit Gala, at the Holiday Inn, 9000 Airport Drive, Visalia. The cost is $60 per person. Checks may be sent to CVC Kiwanis LTG, 1262 Princeton Avenue, Hanford, CA 93230. ($20 of each ticket is tax deductible.)

April 21, 2011: The 2011-12 Div. 33 Election was chaired by IPLG Steven Kinsey. The 2011-12 Div. 33 leadership elected were: Lt. Gov. Joe Johnson (Westchester) and Lt. Gov. Elect Connie Selgrath (South Bakersfield).; Div. 33 DCM was hosted by Delano Pres. April 30 - May 1, 2011: 2011 Bakersfield ACS "Relay For Life" was held at new location of 11800 Old River Road. It is the world largest with 400 teams and 2,000 cancer survivors in purple T-shirts plus raised $2,000,402. August 18-21, 2011: 91st Cal-Nev-Ha District Convention at the Town & Country Resort Hotel in San Diego, CA. 2010-11 Lt. Gov. Kathy Orrin (Taft) was retired & 2011-12 Lt. Gov. Joe Johnson (Westchester) was installed. 2010-13 R11T Walter Morton (Kern) attended. At 54 years, PSDLG John Stephenson was 2nd longest Kiwanian. Div. 33 Lt. Gov. Kathy received KIF plaque for 100% Annual Club Gift plus led the National Anthem for Inter-club luncheon. Photos

September 1, 2011: Div. 33 Lt. Governors Retirement & Installation Dinner was held at DoubleTree Hotel, and the MC was PDLG Phil Niederauer. 2011-12 Cal-Nev-Ha District Gov. Richard Olmstead retired 2010-11 Lt. Gov. Kathy Orrin (Taft) and installed 2011-12 Lt. Gov. Joe Johnson (Westchester). Retiring 2010-11 Lt. Gov. Kathy Orrin thanked all: Div. 33 Club Presidents & Committee Chairs, Div. Sec. Adele Ward and Region 11 Trustee Walter Morton (2010-13). (Lower Middle-Right) First Lady Cheryl Olmstead's Project is supporting 6 Partner Hospitals, and Gov. Richard Olmstead's Team Is Carrier of Service.
