Don't look now troops, but we are almost half way finished with our Kiwanis year. A big thank you to all the clubs and their boards. Our official meetings are all completed, and the reports are in.
Tis the season for Distinguished Kiwanians (and Clubs). If you have any member who has brought in a new member - that Kiwanian should be distinguished! Get the information to me and let's recognize them.
The March 20th Division Council Meeting will include electing our Lt. Governor Elect for 1997-98. This will be done at a special 5:30 p.m. meeting in the Hill House. There are a lot of individual club activities coming up. Let me know for my calendar and so the other clubs will be aware.
Kiwanis International Convention will be held in Nashville, Tennessee, June 27-July 1. Get your registration in ASAP. The good rooms are going fast. Club delegates form should be approved by your Board of Directors at their next meeting.

CLUB ACTIVITIES
East Bakersfield Club have donated $300.00 for purchase of special basic reader books for the Buttonwillow School District. An estimate cost of $1,500.00 is to buy enough sets to serve 400 students, from Kindergarten through the 8th grade. For more detail information call Caroline Corser at 871-9201.

Westchester Club had a clean "sweep" month. Jamison Center got the cleanest job and some repairs to the sprinkler system. As reported by PLG Jim "POP" Turner. They had a big turn out, which included some of their new members, Chuck Thompson, Andy Andrews and another new member. Also, Lamont Skiby and his crew cleaned up along "F" St. on March 15.

KIWIN'S AT EAST BAKERSFIELD H.S.
Participated in a coat give away for children, serve dinner at the Homeless Shelter and lunch at the Senior Adult Center.
Joined the North Mid-Winter Conference at Modesto ( Thanks to Phil Fields of Kern Club for the $200.00 personal donation).
Raised funds at E.B. Gym events, a book drive collection on campus, suitable for k-12 reading levels to be donated to the Mercy Learning Center. Help an E.B. student survey trees for his Eagle Scout Project. They will participate April 5, in the Tour de Cure Bike-a-Thon.
The Kiwin's will attend the District Convention in Ontario April 25-27. They are well known at E.B.H.S. and their MOTTO is "We're small, we're strong and we're growing". Governor Georgia Jeffers, Ruby Division

South Bakersfield Club will hold it's annual Barbecue Stake Dinner Fund-Raiser on May 2. Tickets are $50.00 each. Time and location to be announced at a later date.

Shafter Club will have a vender booth at Minter Field Museums WARBIRDS IN ACTION Air Show on Sat. & Sun. April 26-27th.
The Club will be serving a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., and Tri-Tip sandwiches & goodies from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is their largest fund-raising event of the year. Patronize them.

51st ANNUAL KEY CLUB CONVENTION
Division 33 will be sending approximately 75 Key Clubbers to the 51st Annual Cal-Nev-Ha Convention on April 11-13 in Anaheim. Over 3,500 Key Clubbers will gather to celebrate the beginning and end of the Key Club year. Many participating clubs in Division 33 have registered for contests, for Sgt. at Arms, and Judging. Lt. Governor Polly Ha and BHS President Annie Hong will be running for an executive office at Convention. Both candidates have been unanimously endorsed by Division 33. Lt.
