From the Lt. Governor

. Our division had excellent representation and even made an impression on the resolution voting. Our Sunny Scofield added major changes to the Volunteerism Resolution.

Where's The Club! I need pictures and I need the club back at Westchester Sooooon! I have a prize to award!

Governor Nelson's Fast Finish Membership Drive needs a push. Let's "finish" strong.

The dates are lining up for September installations - New Lt. Governor Rudy's is September 18. Let's have a super crowd for him.

IDD! Let's not fade. Work hard to finish a great year of fund-raising. Keep moving and help those children.

AMENDMENT RESULTS

Approved

No. 1 -- This amendment will terminate a Trust established on January 29, 1930 with all assets being transferred over to the Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation on a restricted contribution for continuation of the Achievement Awards program in the future.

No. 2 -- This amendment will increase maximum dues which may be charged by the district to its members in the amount from US $25.00 to US $30.00 per year. 1997-98 district dues will be US $25.00.

No. 3 -- This amendment will allow the mid-winter conference to be held during the months of January, February or March, as shall be selected by the District Board of Trustees.

No. 1 -- Supporting Cal-Nev-Ha's Past Governor Robert J. Jolly, in the office of International Vice President.

No. 2 -- Kiwanis Pediatric Care Institute.

No. 3 -- Volunteerism in America. Golden K Rosewood-Kern City President-designate Sunny Scofield had her amendment approved.

No. 4 -- California Parks Ministry.

No. 5 -- In Appreciation International Counselor. International Vice President-designate Alex A. "Bo" Shafer, Jr. and his wife, Mary were just outstanding.

No. 6 -- In Memoriam.

No. 7 -- In Memoriam Past District Governor (1964) Frederick R. Silvey.

No. 8 -- In Appreciation for the District Convention Committee.

Of the 567 clubs in the District, 402 (70%) were represented with 754 club delegates and 23 delegates-at-large. Division 33 were represented by the following from eleven clubs:

1997-98 Division 33 Lt. Governor-designate Rudy Arambula (South Bakersfield) and Division First Lady Bertha were being greeted on stage by 1997-98 District Governor-designate Reid Allen and District First Lady Kathy in the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, August 16, 1997.

 

10 YEARS AT 100%

Division 33 was awarded a plaque to 1996-97 Lt. Governor John Rodgers from Kiwanis International Foundation Chair Norman Newcomb for 10 years of having 100% club participation. Division Foundation Chair Phil Neiderauer has the same record for the Cal-Nev-Ha District Foundation. Good job Phil.
