DIVISION 33 FIRST TABLET OF HONOR
At the end of Kern Kiwanis Club's 50th Charter Night on May 27, 1998, PSDLG John W. Stephenson was honored by receiving the Tablet of Honor from President Phil Field with Governor Reid Allen and Lt. Gov. Rudy Arambula looking on.
DIVISION 33 TOPS CAL-NEV-HA DISTRICT FOR 11TH YEAR
Under the leadership of Division Foundation Chair PDLG Phil Niederauer, 100 percent of the Division 33 clubs donated for the 11th year to both K.I. Foundation Birthday Celebration and Cal-Nev-Ha District Founder's Day.
1998 NORTH MID-WINTER CONFERENCE IN SAN JOSE
During the Cal-Nev-Ha District Board Meeting, Div. 33 Lt. Governor Rudy Arambula congratulated Key Club Lt. Governor Patrick Maurer (San Jose High) on their increase membership to 22,000.
BAKERSFIELD CHRISTIAN HIGH KEY CLUB CHARTERED
On March 12, 1998 at Park's Place, Kern Kiwanis Club chartered its 3rd Sponsored Youth group at the Bakersfield Christian High Key Club with 16 members (8 boys and 8 girls). PSDLG John Stephenson performed the installation of officers and 1997-98 Division 33 Lt. Governor Rudy Arambula provided the closing remarks. Kern President Phil Field presented the charter, gavel and gong. In the right picture, the officers are: President Cale Byrom, Sec. Lindsay Dale and VP Hannah Miller. Also present were Principal Kathy Megazzi, Faculty Advisor Jerry Meadows and Kern Kiwanis Advisor PP John Wagner.

On January 17, 1998 at Northminister Presbyterian Church, Certified Trainer and Governor Elect Bob Maurer conducted the Division 33 PEPC with the following in attendance: (Seated L-R) Doe Maurer, PE Vic King (East Bakersfield), PE Kathy Orrin (Taft), PE Ruth McClain (Golden K), Lt. Elect Marvin Fuller & PE Wayne Deats (Oildale), PE John Stockton (Shafter), PE Rex Moen (Tehacapi), Treasurer & Site Coordinator Willis Lazalle & PE Charles Neville (Kern), Zack Orrin.
HAROLD MATLOCK SELECTED FOR DIVISION 33 IDD HIXSON
At the DCM on December 18, 1997, Lt. Governor Rudy Arambula presented the Division 33 IDD Hixson to Golden K Charter Member Harold Matlock. This award was the direct result of Golden K President Sunny Scofield's donation of her Pasadena District Convention IDD Basket ($225) for a raffle by eight clubs ($1,065) at the DCM on October 16, 1997.
