" Team 2000"
It has been a while since we last talked.
Gov. Terri Neumann had just had her visit with Division 33, we went to mid-year conferences, we had our Total K work day at Jamison Park. Now we just came back from Miami Beach for the International Convention. As usual we a great turn out with 42 members and guests in attendance. All Division 33 clubs were represented with delegates. Fun was had by all just ask any member in attendance how much a glass of water costs in the hotel or how deep was the water at the street fair we all attended?
This has been a busy year for myself with Kiwanis and especially with a new work assignment out of town. It has been difficult at times to accomplish my Kiwanis goals. I had to realize that I can only do what I can do.
When I agreed to be Lt. Gov. of Division 33 it was apparent to me that we had some dedicated members, great clubs, and accomplished fabulous projects for our communities. After working with the clubs and reading the monthly reports for six months I would never have believed how dedicated all the members of our division are. The clubs are all very dynamic and function wonderfully.
The clubs in Division 33 do everything from giving books to our schools, reading to the children in our schools, buying clothing for the needy, Easter egg hunts, provide scholarships, work at MARE, plant plants at CALM, work at PAL the list goes on and on.
As of May 31, 2000 Division 33 returned to first place within Cal-Nev-Ha District By donating $111,309.25 to help over 2.2 million children fight IDD worldwide.
Keep up the good work!
My personal goal was to have all clubs in Division 33 solid in there function and service. I have not had to do much. As you can see the clubs are functioning well. Service is just fabulous. The only function that needs everyone's help is membership. If you remember our goal was to have a 10% net gain for each club this year. As of June we have four clubs with a net gain over 10%.
#1 Bakersfield +18%
#2 Golden K +11%
#3 Rosedale +11%,
#4 Shafter +11%
I know that all the clubs can join this elite group. Just remember to ask.
