GOLDEN K AWARDS "WALTER ZELLER FELLOWSHIP"
On October 26, 2011, the Golden K Rosewood-Kern City Club made a "Walter Zeller Fellowship" donation of $1,250 for MNT to honor 1993-94 Div. 33 Lt. Gov. John W. Stephenson, Sr. who organized and supported the Club for 17 years. On November 17th, 2010-11 Golden K Club President George Thomson presented John with his award, and thanked him for being their Secretary (6 yrs.) and Treasurer (4 yrs.) before the club was disolved.
KERN GETS "THE YEAR OF LEADERSHIP AWARDS"
On September 29th, 2010-11 Kern MNT Chair John Stephenson, Sr. FedExed $535.00 to bring Kern's yearly donation to $2,340.00 for the "The Year of Leadership Award". Kern Club MNT Committee and 13 members can be proud that we helped Kiwanis and UNICEF save 1,300 lives of mothers and newborns by eliminating maternal/neonatal tetanus (MNT). On December 15th, 2011-12 KI President Alan Penn sent Kern Club President Shirley Ventura a thank you letter with the banner patch below:
